AmCham Cambodia will host a virtual webinar on the topic "Cambodia's Investment Law 2021" on Thursday, August 12 from 10am to 11am on AmCham Cambodia's Facebook page.

Last month, the government approved the draft investment law, which aims to increase Cambodia's potential at attracting more domestic and foreign investors. The law will raise Cambodia's competitiveness and productivity of local industries, establish investment incentives, strengthen connectivity to regional and global supply chains, ensure economic diversification, and protect the rights and interests of investors.

AmCham's webinar will discuss this new law and its impacts. We have two incredible speakers and a superb moderator. First, Dr. Sok Siphana, a practicing attorney and the Founding Partner at SokSiphana&associates, a law and consulting firm specialized in international trade and corporate law in Phnom Penh, will give an overview of the existing Investment Law, brief history, passing process, material changes, and timetable. Then, Mr. Jay Cohen, a partner and director of Tilleke & Gibbins' Cambodia practice, will provide a brief on the relevance of the changes to the business community and our membership, and the session will be moderated by Mrs. Ing Rina, AmCham Board of Governors. We will then have a Q&A session from our participants.

Mrs. Ing Rina is the Founding Partner of Ing Law Office and presently Country Manager of Kelvin Chia Partnership, Cambodia Office. Further, she has been a member of the Legal and Justice Council of the Ministry of Justice since November 2020.

Rina has over ten years of experiences advising clients on a wide variety of investment, corporate and commercial matters including banking, real estate, telecom infrastructure, and air transportation.
Rina holds a Master degree in real estate law from the Jean Moulin University Lyon 3 in France.

Rina is fluent in Khmer, English and French. She also speaks basic Thai.

Rina is passionate about contributing to the improvement of the investments and businesses in Cambodia in compliance with the Cambodian laws as well as the goals and objectives of the investors and entrepreneurs.

Dr Sok Siphana is a practicing attorney and the Founding Partner at SokSiphana&associates, a law and consulting firm specialized in international trade and corporate law in Phnom Penh. He was appointed by Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen concurrently as Advisor of the Royal Government of Cambodia and Advisor to the Supreme National Economic Council with rank of Minister in August 2009 and November 2011 respectively. He was reappointed as Senior Advisor to the Royal Government of Cambodia in September 2018 with a rank of Senior Minister. He serves currently as the Chairman of the Board of the Asian Vision Institute and previously as Chairman of the Board of the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI), Cambodia’s oldest and prominent independent research institute.

Jay Cohen is a partner and director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Cambodia practice, leading the Phnom Penh office’s commercial and intellectual property practices.
