Recently, Cambodia enacted the eagerly-awaited new Law on Taxation which has come into force from 17 May 2023. The Law on Taxation abrogates the old law on taxation dated 24 February 1997 and its amendment dated 31 March 2003. The Law on Taxation consists of 20 chapters and 255 articles. The endorsement comes after the draft of the law was approved by the Cabinet on March 31, the National Assembly (NA) on April 19, and then by the Senate on May 2.
