Cambodia's tourism industry is a significant contributor to the country's economic growth and provides employment for thousands of Cambodians. In 2019, the industry generated over $4 billion in revenue from more than 6 million international visitors. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on travel and tourism worldwide, including in Cambodia.
To bring attention to this crucial matter, AmCham Cambodia is hosting an event titled "Where is Cambodia's Tourism Industry Heading?" on September 26, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Raffles Hotel Le Royal. The newly appointed Minister of Tourism, H.E. Sok Soken will be our keynote speaker and recently has outlined a vision to transform Cambodia into a world-renowned tourist destination. This vision includes three strategic goals: promoting competitive, sustainable, and inclusive tourism.
The event also brings together industry leaders, including Cambodia Airports, the Cambodia Hotel Association, Cambodia Restaurant Association, and the Cambodian Tourism Federation to discuss these issues and explore ways to move forward.
